Title: 21st China-ASEAN Expo Kicks Off with Five Key Features

The 21st China-ASEAN Expo (also known as the East Expo) is set to take place from September 24 to 28 in Nanning, China. According to the Expo’s Secretariat, this year’s event will have five distinct features that highlight its significance and innovations.

  1. Serving the Construction of the China-ASEAN Community of Shared Future: The Expo aims to strengthen the bond between China and ASEAN, contributing to mutual growth and development.

  2. Promoting the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area 3.0 Version: The event will facilitate the upgrade of the free trade agreement, fostering deeper economic integration and cooperation.

  3. Supporting the Comprehensive Implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP): The Expo will help in the full realization of RCEP benefits, encouraging more trade and investment among member countries.

  4. Facilitating Institutional Openness and Cooperation between China and ASEAN: The Expo will serve as a platform for policy dialogue and the exchange of best practices, enhancing mutual understanding and trust.

  5. Enhancing Exhibitors’ and Attendees’ Experience: This year’s Expo will feature an extended exhibition period and an improved layout, with new sections focusing on strategic emerging industries, digital technology, ASEAN high-tech products, fashion for the ASEAN market, and cultural exchange.

The exhibition area will span nearly 200,000 square meters, with 30% allocated to ASEAN and other regional exhibitors. Over 2,000 companies will participate in the main exhibition area, including over 800 ASEAN and foreign enterprises, representing more than 41% of the total. Among the participants are over 400 renowned firms, including Fortune 500 companies, Chinese top 500 enterprises, unicorns, and specialized and specialized new little giants.

The Expo will also emphasize key areas, including the Silk (Cross-Border) E-commerce Open Cooperation, Green Industry Supply and Demand Matching, and New Energy Exchange, to promote digital and green economy collaboration. Additionally, it will feature a focus on ASEAN cooperation through national briefings and the introduction of the ASEAN Young Leaders Growth Plan, with a China-ASEAN Young Leaders Roundtable Dialogue to foster regional economic growth driven by the youth.

The 21st China-ASEAN Expo promises to be a significant milestone in the ongoing partnership between China and ASEAN, offering opportunities for trade, investment, and cultural exchange, while fostering a spirit of cooperation and shared prosperity.
