Prominent KDE developer Nate Graham, along with a team of KDE designers and developers, has been working on a new set of Human Interface Guidelines (HIG) for the KDE community. The guidelines aim to provide a solid foundation for developers and designers creating new KDE software.
The updated HIG is designed to make all content actionable, reflecting the current design trends in KDE software, such as Qt Quick based Kirigami apps and a flat navigation menu. The new guidelines also aim to be more welcoming to new contributors.
The new KDE HIG is not yet fully complete, but interested parties can learn more about it on Nate Graham’s blog (https://pointieststick.com/2024/06/09/new-human-interface-guidelines/). The guidelines can be found at the KDE development website (https://develop.kde.org/hig/).
