Mazda 6 Goes Electric: 长安马自达 EZ-6 Setfor Presale on September 28th
Nanjing, China -长安马自达, the joint venture between China’s Changan Automobile and Japan’s Mazda, is set to launch the highly anticipated EZ-6,the electric and range-extended version of the popular Mazda 6, on September 28th. The first batch of vehicles has already been shipped from the Nanjing factoryand will reach dealerships across China in the coming days.
The EZ-6, a mid-size sedan, marks a significant step in Mazda’s electrification strategy. The name itself, with E representing Electric and Z standing for Zero Emission, clearly indicates the vehicle’s focus on sustainable mobility.
The EZ-6 boasts impressive dimensions, measuring 4921mm in length, 1890mm in width, and 1485mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2895mm. The car will be available in eight exterior colors, including Flowing Gold and Serene Moon Grey, and will feature an electric rear spoiler.
Beyond its sleek design, the EZ-6 is packed with cutting-edge technology. It features four 1-megapixel high-definition panoramic cameras and 12 high-performance ultrasonic radars, enabling it to identify 108 different types of parking spaces, including vertical, horizontal, diagonal, and those without markings. This advanced system allows for a range of intelligent parking features, including automatic parking,remote parking, remote entry and exit, remote intelligent parking, and lane-following reverse.
Inside the cabin, the EZ-6 offers a premium experience with a full-liquid crystal instrument panel, a 14.6-inch floating central control screen, and a dual-spoke multi-function steering wheel.Depending on the trim level, the car also offers features such as a Sony sound system, 64-color ambient lighting, zero-gravity seats, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip.
Powertrain options cater to diverse needs. The pure electric version is equipped with a 190kW motorand a choice of 56.1kWh or 68.8kWh batteries, providing CLTC-rated ranges of 480km and 600km, respectively. The range-extended model features a 1.5-liter range extender with a maximum output of 70kWand a peak motor output of 160kW.
