September 14, 2024 – Xi’an, China – In a significant move to enhance the technological prowess of the province, the Shaanxi Innovation Investment Alliance was officially launched on September 13, 2024, at the 2024 Shaanxi科创 Investment Ecosystem Conference held in Xi’an. The alliance, initiated by the Shaanxi Provincial Government Investment Guidance Fund (hereinafter referred to as the Guidance Fund), is poised to drive the growth, scaling-up, and listing of technology enterprises in Shaanxi Province.
The conference was hosted by the Shaanxi Provincial Government Investment Guidance Fund Management Committee, in collaboration with the Shaanxi Provincial Finance Department, Shaanxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission, Shaanxi Provincial Science and Technology Department, Shaanxi Provincial Industry and Information Technology Department, and Shaanxi Provincial Local Financial Supervision and Administration Bureau.
The Guidance Fund, since its establishment, has focused on the development of key industrial chains and weak links in the province. It has innovated in its cooperative models, actively engaging with central enterprises, national-level funds, renowned investment institutions, and industrial enterprises. The Fund has also collaborated closely with major financial institutions at the provincial and city levels and strategically coordinated with domestic leading enterprises. It has jointly established sub-funds to attract investment, intelligence, and projects to Shaanxi, thereby contributing to the high-quality development of Shaanxi’s real economy.
As of the end of August 2024, the Guidance Fund has established 30 sub-funds, invested in 1 national-level fund, with a total scale of 363.11 billion yuan. The sub-funds have invested in 251 projects, with an investment amount exceeding 100 billion yuan, and have leveraged over 55 billion yuan in other investments.
The newly established Shaanxi Innovation Investment Alliance aims to leverage the Guidance Fund as a driving force, using fund investment as a binding thread to aggregate various resources and forces. The alliance seeks to explore a new development model with Shaanxi characteristics, integrating finance + science and technology innovation + industry. It aspires to create a diversified and open communication platform and investment ecosystem, forming a equity, bond, loan, and insurance financial service system.
