The EV series offers four versions with prices ranging from 179,800 to 235,800 yuan, while the DM-i series has five versions with prices ranging from 165,800 to 225,800 yuan.

The Han family has been a key contributor to BYD’s market dominance. It occupies the mid-to-large sedansegment, a traditionally high-end market where consumers prioritize quality over affordability. The Han family disrupted this paradigm by offering a compelling value proposition, even entering the price range of mid-sized sedans.

The mid-to-large sedan segment is highly competitive, with established players like the BBA(BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi) and their 5, 6, and E series models holding strong positions. Even within the mid-sized sedan market, the Han family faces stiff competition from established models like the Volkswagen Passat/Magotan, Honda Accord, and Toyota Camry.

Despite the fierce competition, theHan family has achieved remarkable success, consistently ranking first in the mid-to-large sedan segment for the past six months. It outsold the Audi A6L by at least 25,000 units and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class by nearly 40,000 units. In the mid-sized sedan market, the Han family holds the second spot, outselling the Volkswagen Magotan by approximately 34,000 units.

The question is, can the 2025 Han family maintain its success with its latest iteration?

From the Inside Out: Enhanced Intelligence

The 2025 Han family boasts significant upgrades, evident even in its model names. While the exterior design largely retains the classic family style, the new Han family has undergone substantial improvements in power, configuration, and intelligence.

Power: The 2025 Han DM-i is equipped withBYD’s fifth-generation DM technology, featuring a 1.5Ti high-efficiency hybrid engine, EHS200 electric hybrid system, and a super hybrid-dedicated power-type blade battery. These advancements enable the vehicle to achieve a fuel consumption of 3.8L per 100km (NEDC) and a pure electric range of 125km (CLTC), resulting in a combined range of 1350km. The vehicle also boasts a 0-100km/h acceleration time of just 6.9 seconds, making it one of the most efficientand powerful vehicles in its class.

The 2025 Han EV series benefits from the full-domain 800V high-voltage platform, delivering stability, efficiency, safety, and attractive pricing. The 605KM Noble and 701KM Deluxe versions, equipped with thefull-domain 800V high-voltage platform, are priced 4,000 yuan and 10,000 yuan lower, respectively, compared to their previous generation counterparts. This represents a significant value proposition for consumers.

Configuration: The 2025 Han family introducesnew features like a five-link independent rear suspension, FSD variable damping suspension system, Yunnian-C intelligent damping body control system, electric adjustment/ventilation/heating for the driver and passenger seats, HiFi-grade custom-designed Dynaudio sound system, W-HUD head-up display, heated steering wheel,31-color independent zone immersive intelligent ambient lighting, NAPPA leather seats, AR projection-type induction tailgate, automatic anti-glare interior rearview mirror, and APA automatic parking assist.

Intelligence: The 2025 Han family is equipped with the DiPilot 300 high-level intelligent driving assistance system, dubbed God’s Eye by BYD. This system boasts a hardware combination of five high-precision millimeter-wave radars, twelve ultrasonic radars, and one high-perception LiDAR. It is powered by a 254TOPS Nvidia Orin-X intelligentdriving chip and offers features like city navigation, highway navigation, automatic parking assist, and valet parking.

The cabin features the DiLink 100 high-end intelligent cockpit system, powered by a high-performance 6nm custom chip. Although the official computing power is not disclosed, the system supports millions ofapp downloads, full-scenario intelligent voice interaction, and a smoother car machine operating speed.

Smarter = More Affordable

Since its launch, the Han family has been associated with affordability, shattering the price floor of mid-to-large sedans. This has allowed consumers to access a mid-to-large sedanwith the same budget they would have used for a mid-sized car, offering exceptional value.

However, the competitive landscape has shifted. The BBA models, aside from the Audi A6L, now offer highly intelligent and electrified versions of the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class.The newly launched generation of the Volkswagen Passat/Magotan is also significantly improving its intelligence level while aggressively lowering prices to offer a more affordable option.

The 2025 Han family faces a more challenging and competitive environment. The key strategy for the new model is to be more affordable.

BYD hasachieved this by comprehensively upgrading the Han family’s intelligence level. From the fifth-generation DM technology to the 1.5Ti engine, car machine system, and intelligent driving system, every aspect has been refined. While the Han family may not be the most intelligent in its class, it stands out with its powerfuland efficient powertrain, especially in areas like long range and low fuel consumption.

The 2025 Han family also features price adjustments. The two 800V versions of the Han EV have been reduced by 4,000 yuan and 10,000 yuan, respectively, while the entry-level version of the DM-i series has been reduced by 4,000 yuan. This means that the Han family offers a more intelligent product at a lower price point.

With its enhanced intelligence and affordability, the 2025 Han family is well-equipped to faceits formidable competitors. Ultimately, the success of the Han family will depend on consumer choices.

BYD: Master of Market Dynamics

BYD has consistently demonstrated its mastery of market dynamics. The company has a remarkable ability to extend the product life of its vehicles. Models like the Yuan, Qin,Tang, and Han have consistently ranked among the best-selling vehicles in their respective segments.

The market is becoming increasingly competitive, and consumers are becoming more demanding. As one of BYD’s flagship models, the Han family is poised to continue winning over consumers with its high manufacturing standards and competitive pricing.
