LeiShan Shawan, China – In a collective effort to strengthen cybersecurity and enhance public awareness, 14 departments and units in LeiShan Shawan recently held a concentrated cybersecurity awareness campaign. The event, which was part of the 2024 National Cybersecurity Awareness Week, aimed to build a cybersecurity barrier for the community.
The campaign, themed Cybersecurity for the People, by the People, was held from September 9th to September 15th. It was organized by the Shawan District Publicity Department, along with other key departments such as the District Security Bureau, Economic and Information Bureau, Education Bureau, and Public Security Bureau.
During the campaign, the participating departments and units engaged in various activities to disseminate cybersecurity knowledge. They set up information desks, distributed promotional materials, and displayed informative posters to educate the public about cybersecurity. The campaign also provided detailed interpretations of important laws and regulations, such as the Cybersecurity Law, Data Security Law, and Personal Information Protection Law.
One of the highlights of the campaign was the focus on addressing public concerns regarding personal information protection, preventing internet fraud, and identifying online rumors. Staff from the participating departments answered questions from the public and guided them in developing good cybersecurity habits, enhancing their skills, and effectively preventing and resisting cybersecurity risks.

For people like me, it is very important to master cybersecurity knowledge and skills to effectively safeguard personal property.
The campaign distributed over 1,000 promotional materials and received over 30 inquiries from the public. In the coming days, the Shawan District plans to organize more themed activities, such as Cybersecurity Campus Day, Telecommunications Day, Legal Day, and Financial Day, as well as activities such as cybersecurity education in grassroots areas, cybersecurity competitions, and micro-video collections. These activities aim to promote cybersecurity awareness and ensure that the cybersecurity concept becomes deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.
