Jinan, China – The construction of Jinan Metro Line 6 has reached a significant milestone as the first power substation, located at Jinan East Station, successfully completed the 35kV alternating current (AC) transmission. The Jinan East Station power substation, akin to the heart of the metro power supply system, plays a vital role in converting the 35kV AC high-voltage electricity provided by the external power grid into 1500V DC electricity. This electricity is then transmitted to the overhead contact line for the electric trains, ensuring their power supply. Additionally, within the power substation, a 35kV AC high-voltage electricity provided by the external power grid is converted into 400V AC electricity by a power transformer, supplying power to various equipment within the subway stations.
Jinan Metro Line 6, a key east-west backbone line in the city’s second-round planning, spans the main urban area. It connects the three major transportation hubs: Jinan West Station, Jinan Railway Station, and Jinan East Station. As of now, 32 stations have entered construction, with 22 stations completed, 20 sections double-line贯通, and 18 stations achieving electrical and mechanical installation. The project is progressing steadily and efficiently.
