MOSCOW, September 9 – In a statement released today, the Russian Defense Ministry disclosed the severe toll taken on the Ukrainian military since their offensive in the Kursk area. Since the operation commenced on August 6, the Ukrainian military has suffered over 11,400 personnel losses. This figure includes soldiers who have been killed or have become non-combatants due to injuries or capture.
In addition to the human losses, the Ukrainian military has also sustained considerable damage to its armor and equipment. The report lists the loss of 89 tanks, 42 infantry fighting vehicles, and 74 armored personnel carriers. Other heavy equipment losses include 635 armored combat vehicles, 371 motor vehicles, 85 artillery guns, 24 multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), of which seven are HIMARS rocket launchers and five are conventional MLRS. Furthermore, the Ukrainian forces have lost eight surface-to-air missile systems, two transporter-loader vehicles, 22 electronic warfare stations, seven counter-battery radar stations, two air-defense systems, eight engineering vehicles, including two obstacle-clearing vehicles and one UR-77 mine-clearing vehicle.
