SEOUL, South Korea – South Korea’s Defense Minister, Kim Jin-kwon, engaged in discussions with Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans and Singaporean Defense Minister Dr. Ng Eng Hen, focusing on enhancing defense and military cooperation between the countries.
On September 9, Kim Jin-kwon met with Dutch Defense Minister Brekelmans to discuss a range of defense-related matters. During the meeting, Kim highlighted the upcoming Second Military Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence Summit (2024 REAIM), co-hosted by South Korea and the Netherlands. He proposed that both nations leverage this event as an opportunity to collaborate and utilize artificial intelligence technology to build future military strategies in the right direction. Additionally, Kim called on the Dutch side to pay attention to South Korea’s weapon systems.
Both defense ministers agreed to deepen cooperation in defense technology and the military industry, with plans to hold a bureau-level defense policy meeting at an early date to facilitate further communication.
