News Point:
In a recent interview with TASS, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova revealed that Russia plans to persistently bring the issue of Western involvement in Ukraine’s attacks on the Kursk Region to the attention of the United Nations. This move is set to coincide with the participation of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in the United Nations General Assembly events.
We are already doing this at the UN Security Council meetings as well, Zakharova noted. Thus, Russia’s First Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Mr. [Dmitry] Polyansky has recently spoken about the terrorist attacks on the Kursk Region at the Security Council meeting. We release a lot of materials our representatives to international organizations are using in their work, and we will continue doing this.
Zakharova also mentioned that informal communication with Western nations is either confrontational or cooperative, and that Russia has not engaged in full-format talks or normal meetings with those it is in confrontation with, as stated by the Russian president.
Such contacts are maintained through various channels, including the foreign ministry, embassies, exchanges of notes, and isolated targeted missions. However, Zakharova added that these interactions have not been extensive or prolonged.
The issue of Western involvement in the conflict, particularly in relation to the attacks on the Kursk Region, is a significant topic for Russia and is expected to be a focal point during the UN General Assembly events.
