Beijing, China (September 7, 2024) – In a bid to accelerate the development of new information infrastructure, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and ten other departments have jointly issued a notice outlining strategies for the coordinated development of this critical sector.

The new information infrastructure, which forms the backbone of China’s digital transformation, encompasses a range of technologies and services, including 5G networks, fiber optic broadband networks, mobile IoT networks, and data centers. These foundational digital services are vital for economic and social development, often referred to as the information lifeline of the economy.

The joint notice, titled Notice on Promoting the Coordinated Development of New Information Infrastructure, aims to optimize the strategic layout and comprehensive construction of new information infrastructure.
