Beihai, Guangxi, September 6, 2024 – The City of Beihai in Guangxi Province has initiated Five Stops measures in response to the severe impact of Typhoon Majiao, the 11th typhoon of the year. The ferry route between Weizhou Island and Beihai has been suspended. From September 4th to 5th, a total of 18 trips were arranged for the route, transporting approximately 15,700 people, including about 14,000 tourists and 1,700 local residents and businesses.
The measures have also been initiated in Hebei County, Haicheng District, Yinhai District, and Tieshan Harbor District, with staggered start times.

All schools and off-campus training institutions in Beihai have suspended offline teaching, training, and outdoor teaching activities. All construction sites in the city have stopped work, with all construction workers halting their activities.

All tourist attractions, parks, outdoor entertainment venues, and entertainment places in the city have been closed and suspended. Outdoor and large venue sports and cultural activities have also been halted.
Waterway and Marine Operations Suspensions
In the navigable waters of the city, navigation and operations have been prohibited. The Beihai Marine Bureau has promptly organized the return of all ships and fishing rafts to ports for shelter, and all offshore aquaculture and marine workers have been ashore.

In addition, starting at 3:00 p.m. on September 6th, all work and production in Beihai City, except for units and staff involved in emergency rescue and social basic operation tasks (including enterprises), have been suspended. All markets, supermarkets, restaurants, and other businesses in the city have stopped operating. All taxis, ride-sharing services, buses, and passenger transport have been suspended.
