Hubei Province to Achieve Full High-Speed Rail Coverage with the Launch ofJingjing Railway
Wuhan, China – The Jingjing High-Speed Railway, connecting Jingmen and Jingzhou in Hubei Province, officially entered the crucial stage of joint debugging and testing on September 4th,2024. The commencement of these tests marks a significant step towards the railway’s full operation, paving the way for Hubei to achieve complete high-speed rail coverage across all its cities.
The 77.48-kilometer long Jingjing Railway, designed for a speed of 350 kilometers per hour, is a vital component of the Eight Vertical and EightHorizontal high-speed rail network in China. It connects the Yanjiang High-Speed Railway and Xiangjing High-Speed Railway in the north, and the Han-Yi Railway in the south, linking Wuhan and Yichang. Therailway boasts 14 bridges spanning a total of 65.41 kilometers, accounting for 83.64% of the total length. The line features three stations: Jingmen West, Shayang West, and Jingzhou.
The completion of the Jingjing Railway holds immense significance for HubeiProvince. Jingmen, the only city in the province without high-speed rail access, will finally be connected to the national high-speed rail network through its connection to the Han-Yi Railway. This development will bring Hubei’s total number of cities with high-speed rail connectivity to 17, effectivelyachieving city-to-city high-speed rail coverage within the province.
The Jingjing Railway is expected to play a crucial role in promoting the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
