of their effort and commitment. Unfortunately, football can sometimes be so
unpredictable, and tonight’s result is a testament to that. Despite the
devastating loss to AC Milan, our players should hold their heads high. They
fought hard and showed immense resilience throughout the match, even in the
face of adversity.

The first half was particularly promising, with Newcastle’s aggressive play
paying dividends when Joelinton scored, putting us ahead against Milan. We
could have extended our lead, but the heroic goal-line clearance by Fikayo
Tomori prevented what would have been a disastrous miss. Meanwhile, PSG’s
struggles in Germany only increased our chances of securing a spot in the
next round. However, the tide turned dramatically when Christian Pulisic
scored for Milan, leaving us with a 1-1 draw that would ultimately cost us our
European dreams.

The second half saw a visibly tired Newcastle side, unable to maintain the
energy and intensity that characterized the first half. The goal by Samuel
Chukwueze, however, brought hope and excitement to St James’ Park, but it
proved to be a fleeting moment. The eventual defeat by Milan, coupled with
PSG’s victory, meant that we would not be advancing to the next stage of the
Champions League.

I am immensely proud of our players for their efforts and the spirit they
displayed tonight. While the result is undoubtedly disappointing, we must
focus on the positives and use this experience as a learning opportunity. We
cannot dwell on what could have been, especially considering the controversial
penalty incident in our previous match against PSG. Instead, we must look ahead
and work tirelessly to improve and bounce back stronger.

We will continue to support our players, and together we will overcome this
setback. The season is far from over, and there is still much to play for.
Our fans’ unwavering support has been a beacon of hope, and their resilience
is a testament to the Newcastle United spirit. We will continue to strive for
success, not just in the Champions League, but in all competitions, and we
will never lose sight of our goals and aspirations.
