Kremlin Rejects Zelensky’s Peace Plan, Vows to Continue Ukraine Invasion
MOSCOW – The Kremlin has dismissed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’sproposed peace plan, reiterating its commitment to continue the military invasion of Ukraine.
Zelensky unveiled the plan on August 27th during a pressconference in Kyiv, outlining a strategy for ending the conflict. He stated that the plan would solidify Ukraine’s position within the global security framework and exert diplomatic pressureon Russia. Zelensky also announced his intention to present the plan to US President Joe Biden during a visit to the United States in September.
The Ukrainian president further highlighted the recent cross-border operation by Ukrainian forces into Russia’s KurskOblast as a component of the peace plan.
However, Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson for the Russian president, dismissed the proposal, stating that it was not the first time Ukraine had presented such a plan. He emphasized that Russia wouldcontinue its special military operation until all its objectives were achieved.
