缙云山生态治理:重庆北碚区的绿色发展新篇章

In a concerted effort to enhance both the aesthetic appeal and economic value of Jinyun Mountain, the Chongqing Beibei district is implementing a multifaceted approach to achieve a dual improvement in its beauty and worth. According to a press conference held by the Chongqing Municipal Government News Office on August 28, Beibei district is committed to exploring a development path that respects both people and the green mountains, aiming to set a modern template for ecological governance on Jinyun Mountain.

Since 2018, when the Jinyun Mountain National Nature Reserve’s environmental综合整治 campaign began, Beibei district has demolished a total of 620,000 square meters of unauthorized structures, effectively eliminating 269 outstanding environmental issues. These efforts have led to a significant greening of the landscape, cleaner water, and a more picturesque environment.

In addition to the demolition work, Beibei district has planted 775,000 plants and revegetated 481,000 square meters of land, contributing to the restoration of the黛湖 (Dai Lake) and the Tenglong Gorge, among other areas. The district has also facilitated the relocation of 203 households and 520 residents from the core and buffer zones of the reserve, providing them with new homes in settlements like Jinyun Mountain Residences, which embody the local巴渝 (Ba-Yu) architectural style.

The district’s focus has now shifted to the second half of the Jinyun Mountain revitalization project. Under the One Heart, Four Areas strategy, the district is centered around the former site of the Central Southwest Bureau of the Communist Party of China on Jinyun Mountain, coordinating the development of the mountain’s southeastern, southwestern, northeastern, and northwestern quadrants. By nurturing industries such as red tourism (related to Communist Party history), eco-education, and high-end wellness, Beibei is transforming the mountain’s ecological beauty into economic output.

Over the past three years, 32 projects related to hot spring resorts, boutique homestays, ecological agriculture, and integrated rural tourism have taken root in Beibei, invigorating industries like the Jinyun Mountain Sweet Tea Garden, Jinyun plum, and Jinyun sugar pear. These initiatives have contributed to collective village income in the Jinyun Mountain area reaching over 13 million yuan.

The commitment to ecological preservation and sustainable growth is evident in Beibei’s actions. The district’s efforts not only showcase its dedication to environmental stewardship but also highlight its innovative approach to balancing economic development with conservation. By leveraging the natural assets of Jinyun Mountain, Beibei is creating a model for other regions to follow in their own pursuit of a greener future.

In conclusion, the transformation of Jinyun Mountain in Chongqing’s Beibei district is a testament to the potential of integrated ecological management. By combining rigorous conservation measures with strategic economic development, Beibei is demonstrating that preserving natural beauty can go hand in hand with fostering economic prosperity. As the world increasingly recognizes the importance of sustainable practices, the Jinyun Mountain project offers a promising blueprint for other regions seeking to harmonize their relationship with the environment.
