Carbon Road First | Taiyuan Energy Low-Carbon Development Forum toKick Off in September, Welcoming Over 120 Foreign Guests from30 Countries and Regions
Taiyuan, China, August 27, 2024 – The 2024 TaiyuanEnergy Low-Carbon Development Forum (hereinafter referred to as the Taiyuan Forum) will be held in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, from September 10th to 11th. As of now, over 120 foreign guests from 30 countries and regions have confirmed their attendance.
The forum, co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Developmentand Reform Commission, the National Energy Administration, and the People’s Government of Shanxi Province, will focus on the theme of Developing New Energy Production Forces and Building a Clean and Beautiful World.
During the forum, participants will showcasethe remarkable achievements of China’s energy production forces development over the past decade since the implementation of the Four Revolutions and One Cooperation energy security strategy. Shanxi, as a pilot province for comprehensive energy reform, will demonstrate its innovative practices in pioneering energy revolution policies and approaches, showcasing the China Solution forpromoting energy transition to the world.
Han Taifan, Deputy Director and Spokesperson of the Shanxi Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, highlighted the forum’s global impact, stating that previous editions have attracted over 1,000 prominent foreign guests from the United Nations and 70 countries, including 10foreign heads of state and government leaders and over 40 ministerial officials. The Taiyuan Forum has become Shanxi’s most dazzling international platform, fostering significant international influence and expanding its global network.
This year marks the 52nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mexico and the 11th anniversary of the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. To further strengthen bilateral ties and promote practical cooperation, Mexico will participate in the forum’s activities as the guest of honor and host a dedicated Mexico Guest of Honor Forum.
The Global New Energy Enterprises 500 Forum, a crucialcomponent of the Taiyuan Forum, has been integrated into the forum since 2019. Du Qing, Deputy Director and Spokesperson of the Shanxi Provincial Energy Administration, announced that this year’s forum will be titled 2024 New Energy and Power Market Innovation Development Conference & the 14th Global New Energy Enterprises 500 Forum, focusing on exploring innovative ways to integrate the development of new energy with the construction of a unified national power market. The forum aims to leverage the expertise and experience of top industry experts and leading enterprises from China and abroad to provide valuable insights for the development of a new powersystem.
The 500 Forum will consist of 1+2+1+3, comprising one 500 Forum, two industry salons, one inspection tour, and three results releases. The event will unveil the 2024 Global New Energy Enterprises 500 Report and Ranking,the 2024 China Enterprise Carbon Neutrality Contribution Research Report, and the 2024 Typical Cases of Double Carbon Technological Innovation.
Since its approval by the State Council in 2016, the Taiyuan Forum has gradually evolved into a world-renowned platform for high-level dialogues,results releases, and international cooperation in the field of energy and low-carbon development. During the forum, we will hold the China (Shanxi) Green Industry Investment and Cooperation Exchange Conference, warmly inviting domestic and foreign enterprises to participate, said Yang Chunquan, Party Secretary and Director of the Shanxi Provincial Investment PromotionBureau. He emphasized the importance of leveraging the platform and business resources to attract foreign investment and facilitate Shanxi’s high-level opening-up to the world.
