Beijing’s State-Owned Enterprises Open Doors to the Public in Celebration of75th Anniversary

Beijing, August 25, 2024 – In celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the Capital State-Owned EnterprisesOpen Day event kicked off on August 25th at the No. 3 Blast Furnace in the Shougang Park in western Beijing. The event,jointly organized by the Beijing State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) and the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China’s Propaganda Department, will run until the end of September, offering 90 unique routes showcasingthe achievements and charm of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in the capital.

The event will provide visitors with a glimpse into the diverse world of Beijing’s SOEs, offering a chance to explore industrial heritage sites, hear storiesof time-honored brands, and purchase high-quality domestic products.

Capital SOEs: Pillars of Beijing’s Economic Growth

In recent years, Beijing’s SOEs have undergone significant reforms, accelerating the development of new production forces, strengthening and expanding state-owned capital and enterprises, enhancingcore competitiveness and core functions. This has led to high-quality development of the state-owned economy, making it a vital pillar and ballast for the capital’s economic and social development.

This year, Beijing’s state-owned economy has continued to show a positive trend, with revenue and profits of enterprisesexperiencing double-digit growth year-on-year. As of the end of June, the total assets of enterprises under the administration of the Beijing SASAC reached 16.4 trillion yuan.

Capital State-Owned Enterprises Open Day: A Platform for Engagement and Showcase

The Capital State-Owned Enterprises Open Day serves as a crucial bridge for interaction between SOEs and the public, providing a platform to showcase the charm of these enterprises in the new era. Themed Warmly Welcoming the 75th Anniversary and Writing a New Chapter for State-Owned Enterprises, the event will feature 40city-owned enterprises and 3 central enterprises with dual administration in Beijing, offering curated routes around four thematic areas: Deepening Reform, Towards the New, Legacy of Time-Honored Brands, and Beautiful Life.

Diverse Routes, Unique Experiences

Participants can climb the No. 3Blast Furnace in Shougang Park, taking in the panoramic view of the park’s transformation from industrial site to a vibrant hub encompassing mountains, water, Winter Olympics legacy, science fiction, and industrial heritage. Visitors can also experience the meticulous Beijing Service at the National Convention Center managed by Beichen Group, delve intothe dynamic practice of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development in rail transit at the Asia’s largest underground integrated transportation hub operated by Beijing Investment Group, or immerse themselves in the canal transportation culture and the charm of time-honored SOEs at the Nanxin Cang Cultural and Leisure Street District managed by XianglongCompany.

The event also offers a chance to ride the Dangdang Car, Beijing’s iconic tram, and explore the city’s central axis, experiencing the cultural heritage of the ancient capital. With 90 diverse and engaging routes, the event promises to showcase the achievements of reform and development, highlightingthe achievements and charm of Beijing’s SOEs.

New Features and Highlights

For the first time, the event will introduce Key Recommended Spots for Capital State-Owned Enterprises Open Day, with the first batch of 20 spots receiving certificates at the launch ceremony. This will cater to the growing demandfor continuous exploration and discovery.

The event will also integrate the Jingqi Direct Sale brand, showcasing high-quality products and services from SOEs, with dedicated booths offering visitors the opportunity to purchase quality goods at affordable prices.

Since 2016, the Beijing SASAC has successfully organized four Capital State-Owned Enterprises Open Day events. This year’s event marks a significant celebration of the 75th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China. Building on the success of previous events, the event will focus on celebrating the anniversary, highlightingthe strengths of SOEs, showcasing industry characteristics, and demonstrating the achievements of reform.
