Korean Language Speech Contest Opens Registration for Foreigners
Seoul, August23, 2024 – The 26th WorldForeigners Korean Language Speech Contest is now open for registration, according to the International Education Institute of Kyung Hee University. The contest, jointly hosted by the institute andYonhap News Agency, is open to all foreign nationals who are fluent in Korean.
This year’s contest offers two themes for participants to choose from:What does Korean mean to me? and I want to recommend this in Korea. Participants are required to submit a speech manuscript in Korean based on their chosen theme.
The deadline for registration is September 6th, and applicants cansubmit their entries through the contest’s official website: http://speechinkorean.iie.ac.kr.
The preliminary round will be held on September 19th and 20th, while the final round willtake place on October 17th at Kyung Hee University. The grand prize winner will receive a 1.5 million won (approximately 8,000 yuan) cash prize, while the two second-place winners will each receive 1 million won.
