据悉，事发时间为23日早8时25分许，该名印度籍女游客在吉隆坡街头步行时，街面突然塌陷，形成深约8米的深坑，女子瞬间跌入其中。
事发后，马来西亚警方、消防及医疗、民防等部门迅速赶到现场，派出数十名救援人员进行搜救。参与搜救工作的还有挖掘机、重型卡车等设备，救援人员甚至下到深坑内寻找失踪者下落。
