据珠江委介绍，自8月17日以来，珠江流域中东部地区遭遇强降雨天气，其中东江、韩江累计降雨量分别达到70毫米、87毫米。受强降雨影响，8月20日16时35分，韩江发生今年第6号编号洪水。截至目前，珠江流域今年已发生13次编号洪水。
针对当前雨情，珠江防总常务副总指挥、珠江委主任吴小龙于20日主持会商，迅速贯彻落实水利部防汛专题会商会精神和部署要求，滚动分析流域防汛形势，针对性部署防御工作。
会商通报显示，未来三天，珠江流域中东部降雨将持续，东江及珠江三角洲累计降雨量将有70毫米至110毫米，韩江将有80毫米至120毫米，局地可能超过220毫米。受其影响，东江干流、韩江干流及支流汀江等河流来水将继续上涨，强降雨区内发生中小河流洪水、山洪灾害风险较大。
