2024年东森杯海峡两岸青少年棒球邀请赛暨第五届海峡两岸青少年棒球文化节在福建省龙岩市连城县隆重开幕。来自两岸的8支青少年棒球队齐聚一堂，不仅在赛场上展现竞技风采，也在赛场外加深了彼此间的友谊。
活动期间，特别推出了“守护天使”小游戏，让两岸小选手以球为媒，互为“守护天使”，通过每日的小任务，如送一瓶水或递一张纸，促进相互了解和认识。这样的互动不仅增进了两岸青少年之间的情谊，也让他们在轻松愉快的氛围中学会了关心和帮助他人。
来自台湾桃园的赖杰旭和来自大陆福州市的同龄小朋友陈俊熙，在欢迎晚宴上结识，成为了彼此的“守护天使”。赖杰旭表示，通过游戏和交流，他感受到了大陆朋友的热情和友好。陈俊熙也期待赛后能与台湾小伙伴多加接触，共同进步。
台湾教练林易增在连城县实验小学执教棒球近一年，他看到了大陆学生的成长和进步。他表示，棒球运动不仅锻炼了孩子们的体质，也促进了两岸青少年的交流和理解。

连城县依托棒球运动，打造了“棒球小镇”，并致力于成为闽台棒垒球区域发展中心。龙岩市台办主任曾佑繁认为，连城县具备人缘优势、产业支撑和棒垒球运动发展的基础，是两岸青少年棒球交流的热点地区。
截至目前，连城县已成功举办26场两岸棒球交流活动，成为两岸青少年棒球交流的活跃县份之一。这些活动不仅增进了两岸青少年之间的友谊，也为两岸棒球运动的交流与发展注入了新的活力。

The 2024 Eastcom Cup Hakka Youth Baseball Invitational Tournament and the Fifth Hakka Youth Baseball Culture Festival was grandly opened in Liancheng County, Longyan City, Fujian Province. Eight youth baseball teams from both sides of the Taiwan Strait gathered together, not only showcasing their competitive spirit on the field but also deepening their friendship off it.
During the event, a special “Guardian Angel” game was introduced, allowing young players from both sides to become each other’s “Guardian Angels” through the game. They completed daily tasks, such as giving a bottle of water or a piece of paper, to promote mutual understanding and acquaintance. Such interactions not only enhanced the friendship among cross-strait youth but also taught them to care and help others in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.
Lai Jiexu from Taoyuan, Taiwan, and Chen Junxi, a fellow youngster from Fuzhou, China, met at the welcome dinner and became each other’s “Guardian Angels.” Lai Jiexu said that through the game and interaction, he felt the warmth and friendliness of his mainland friends. Chen Junxi also looked forward to having more contacts with his Taiwanese peers after the game to grow together.
Coach Lin Yizeng from Taiwan, who has been teaching baseball at Liancheng County Experimental Primary School for nearly a year, has seen the growth and progress of mainland students. He said that baseball not only exercises the children’s physique but also promotes communication and understanding between cross-strait youth.
Hakka audience Liu Yifeng shared how baseball became a bridge for his cross-strait marriage and his exchanges with Taiwanese businessmen and farmers. Liu Yifeng said that baseball, as a bridge for cross-strait exchanges and integration, will lead to endless possibilities.
Liancheng County, leveraging baseball, has built a “Baseball Town” and is committed to becoming a regional development center for Taiwan-Mainland baseball and softball. Zeng Youfan, director of the Liancheng County Taiwan Affairs Office, believes that Liancheng County has a human resource advantage, industrial support, and a foundation for the development of baseball and softball, making it a hot spot for cross-strait youth baseball exchanges.
To date, Liancheng County has successfully hosted 26 cross-strait baseball exchange activities, becoming one of the active counties in promoting cross-strait youth baseball exchanges.
