Content: The third “Dual Cities Youth Cultural Talent Exchange Program” held a sharing session at the Hong Kong Palace Museum, where 16 university students from Beijing and Hong Kong participated in cultural exchange and learning activities across Beijing, Hong Kong, and Chengdu. The program, which focuses on the theme of “The Future of Cultural Ecosystems,” is dedicated to exploring the future development of the cultural and creative industries. The two-month cultural exchange and learning event began in early July, during which students engaged in workshops, master classes, internships at art and cultural institutions, or private enterprises to equip themselves as the next generation of “cultural entrepreneurs.” They aimed to broaden their horizons, discuss the development patterns and trends of culture in China and globally, consider the possibilities of cultural innovation, and understand the opportunities and challenges of the future cultural ecosystem.

The Hong Kong Palace Museum Director, Dr. Wu Zhihua, stated that the museum is seizing the opportunities presented by emerging technologies, combining them with creative elements to enhance visitor experiences. He hoped that the students would expand their international perspectives through the program and seize opportunities in a rapidly changing era, becoming future leaders in promoting Chinese culture to the world in the arts. Additionally, students will visit projects such as the new Sanchengdu Museum and the Chengdu Tianqiao Shopping Mall to learn how to integrate art, culture, and historical elements into the architectural design and cultural and artistic activities of commercial development projects. As the final stop of their cultural exchange journey, students will travel to Beijing in mid-August to visit cultural landmarks such as the Palace Museum and engage in in-depth exchanges with Palace Museum Director Wang Xudong on issues such as the promotion of traditional Chinese culture and the development of cultural and creative industries between Beijing and Hong Kong.

The “Dual Cities Youth Cultural Talent Exchange Program” aims to serve as a platform for cultural exchange between young people in Beijing and Hong Kong, stimulating creative thinking through artistic cultural exchanges and cultivating and inspiring the new generation of cultural talents in the two cities. Since its launch in November 2022, the program has attracted nearly 130 university students from Beijing and Hong Kong.
