Title: Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District Continuously Attracts Headquarters Economy to Support the Strategic Development of the City
The Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District, as an important part of the city’s strategic development, has attracted a large number of headquarters of domestic and foreign enterprises since its establishment, thanks to its unique geographical location and policy environment. According to the latest statistics, as of the present, the business district has cumulatively attracted 211 types of headquarters enterprises, becoming a hot spot for the concentration of headquarters economy in Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta region.
At the “Tide Waves Pudong·Invest in Hongqiao” event and the “2024 Hongqiao International Central Business District Investment Promotion Conference,” the Party Secretary and Executive Deputy Director of the Business District Management Committee, Zhong Xiao-yong, stated that since its establishment, the business district has achieved rapid growth in tax revenue, with a compound annual growth rate of over 20% in the past three years. In the first half of this year, the business district attracted 130 key projects to be implemented, realizing a tax revenue of 26.268 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.5%.
The development of the business district is not only reflected in the growth of tax revenue, but also in the successful landing of a number of landmark and leading key projects. For example, the 24-hour “land acquisition and commencement of construction” of Seyes Information, the opening of KPMG China’s KAMPUS, and the headquarters of well-known enterprises such as McDonald’s Food and Bode Group. In addition, the successful landing of the three headquarters projects of Sanqiu, Xinqiang Media, and Huatian Medical further solidified the position of the business district as a new highland for the upgrading of headquarters economy in the Yangtze River Delta.
Zhong Xiao-yong also stated that the business district is actively developing into an important battlefield for enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta region to expand international business and achieve global development. To this end, the Business District Management Committee has specially introduced policies to support the creation of a service highland for enterprises “going out,” providing one-stop services and comprehensive guarantees for enterprises. These series of policy measures are aimed at supporting enterprises in going out, encouraging multinational companies to set up global or regional fund management centers in the business district, creating convenient conditions for private enterprises to establish headquarters, and promoting the expansion of research and development, sales, trade, settlement, data, and other functions by various headquarters institutions.
In the future, the Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District will continue to leverage its unique geographical location and policy environment to attract more domestic and foreign headquarters enterprises, making greater contributions to the economic development of Shanghai and the nation.
