中国(广东)自由贸易试验区（以下简称“广东自贸试验区”）在2024年上半年交出了一份亮眼的成绩单。据广东省商务厅厅长张劲松在广州举行的新闻发布会上介绍，今年上半年，广东自贸试验区实现进出口总额3335亿元人民币，同比增长29%。这一成绩不仅体现了广东自贸试验区在贸易方面的强劲增长，也显示了其在推动地区经济发展中的重要作用。

The China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone (hereinafter referred to as the “Guangdong FTZ”) has presented a commendable performance report for the first half of 2024. At a news conference held in Guangzhou, Zhang Jinsong, the Minister of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Commerce, introduced that during the first half of this year, the Guangdong FTZ achieved a total import and export volume of 33.35 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 29%. This achievement not only reflects the robust growth in trade for the Guangdong FTZ but also demonstrates its significant role in promoting regional economic development.
Zhang Jinsong also pointed out that the Guangdong FTZ attracted actual foreign direct investment (FDI) of 1.96 billion US dollars during the first half of the year. With only one-sixtieth of the province’s land area, the FTZ contributed 7.6% of the province’s total trade in goods and 1/4 of the actual FDI. These figures indicate that the Guangdong FTZ has become an important window and platform for opening up in Guangdong Province and across the nation.
As of now, there are more than 290,000 enterprises operating within the Guangdong FTZ, attracting numerous investment projects including those from Fortune 500 companies. Among them, 105 Fortune 500 companies have invested in 520 projects within the FTZ, with 220 headquarters enterprises clustering here, showcasing the FTZ’s strong attraction.

The “Cross-border Wealth Management Connect” pilot products have exceeded 3,300, attracting 118,000 investors from the three regions of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, and handling more than 68.54 billion yuan in related fund remittances.
The successful practices of the Guangdong FTZ not only provide valuable experience for further opening up in Guangdong Province and across the nation but also inject new vitality into the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
