中新网济南7月29日电 (记者李明芮)纪念潘承洞先生诞辰90周年数学发展论坛7月29日在山东济南召开。来自中国科学院、北京大学、复旦大学、浙江大学、同济大学、山东大学等20余所高校和科研院所的数学领域专家学者齐聚一堂，共话数学创新人才培养，探讨数学学科发展。
论坛上，北京国际数学研究中心主任田刚指出，数学强国建设需要优秀的年轻人才，并强调数学家在人才培养上的重要性。山东大学教授彭实戈认为，数学是众多科技领域的基础，呼吁高校和科研院所在基础数学和应用数学等领域培养更多创新人才。华中师范大学校长彭双阶提倡“去功利化”的理念，鼓励学生基于兴趣钻研数学。

BEIJING, July 29 (Xinhua) — A Math Development Forum commemorating the 90th anniversary of the birth of Pan Chengdong, a renowned mathematician, was held in Jinan, Shandong province, on July 29. Experts and scholars from the field of mathematics from more than 20 universities and research institutes, including the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Peking University, Fudan University, Zhejiang University, Tongji University, and Shandong University, gathered to discuss innovative mathematics education and explore the development of the math discipline.
At the forum, Tian Gang, director of the Beijing International Center for Mathematical Research, pointed out that the construction of a strong mathematical nation requires outstanding young talents and emphasized the importance of mathematicians in talent development.
