JINING, Shandong, May 16 (Xinhua) — May 22 is the International Biodiversity Day, with China’s theme for this year being “Building a Community of All Life on Earth.” In order to strengthen biodiversity protection and raise public awareness and participation, Shandong province held its 2024 International Biodiversity Day events on May 16 at the Weishan Lake National Wetland Park in Jining, Shandong. Organized by the Shandong Provincial Ecology and Environment Department, and hosted by the Jining municipal government, the event attracted the participation of many government officials, experts in the field of ecology and the general public.
At the event site, the organizers set up a wealth of exhibitions and interactive sessions, showcasing the current status and achievements of Shandong’s biodiversity through various forms such as graphics, videos, and models. Experts in the field of ecology interpreted the “DNA” of Shandong’s biodiversity, revealing its richness and uniqueness.
