**BEIJING, April 19 (Xinhua) –** Spokesperson Lin Jian of China’s Foreign Ministry called on the United States on Monday to refrain from hyping China-related issues during the election year, at a regular press briefing.
According to journalists Zhang Su and Xie Yanying, Lin Jian said that China firmly asks the U.S. side to exercise restraint and avoid manipulating China-related issues for electoral gains.
Lin pointed out that a healthy and stable China-U.S. relationship is crucial for global peace and development.
