(Beijing, March 8) During the 2024 National Two Sessions, representatives from the three cities surrounding Beijing in Hebei Province, namely Langfang, Zhangjiakou, and Chengde, have made suggestions, and the in-depth and solid development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development has become a hot topic among the representatives.
2024 marks the tenth anniversary of the elevation of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development to a national strategy. The implementation of this major national strategy is becoming a “strong driving force” for promoting high-quality development in Hebei.
Li Shulei, a representative of the Langfang Municipal People’s Congress and Secretary of the Langfang Municipal Party Committee, said that as a “bridgehead” for Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development, Langfang will continue to leverage its locational advantages to promote the in-depth and solid development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development. Zhou Zhongming, a representative of the Chengde Municipal People’s Congress and Secretary of the Chengde Municipal Party Committee, said that Chengde will take the construction of an ecological conservation zone as an opportunity to promote new breakthroughs in ecological protection and green development in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development. He suggested establishing an ecological compensationmechanism for Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei to jointly protect the ecological environment of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
The representatives also suggested strengthening industrial coordination in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, cultivating and expanding strategic emerging industry clusters; deepening scientific and technological innovation cooperation in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, and building a Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei scientific and technological innovation corridor; and improving the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei integrated transportation network to build a convenient and efficient transportation system.
These suggestions provide valuable ideas and recommendations for the in-depth and solid development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development.
