News content:
The spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Mao Ning, stated at the regular press conference on the 22nd that there is no information available at the moment regarding whether China is considering lifting the comprehensive ban on importing Japanese seafood.

Mao Ning mentioned that China and Japan maintain close communication and cooperation on food safety issues, and the Chinese side always attaches great importance to food safety issues, appreciating the food safety measures taken by the Japanese side. At the same time, the Chinese side will also prudently assess the issue of importing seafood from relevant countries based on domestic laws and regulations and international standards.

This is not the first time there have been rumors about China considering the resumption of imports of Japanese seafood. As early as 2011, after the Fukushima nuclear accident, China announced a halt to imports of Japanese seafood, since then, while some seafood has been allowed to be imported, the comprehensive resumption of imports has not been implemented.

At the regular press conference, Mao Ning also stated that China and Japan have extensive cooperation in various fields, and both sides will continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation to promote the healthy and stable development of bilateral relations.
