In response to the “East-West Interview” column of China News Service, expert Baima Cuo explained why boarding schools have been successful in Tibet. She believes that boarding schools contribute to the improvement of education quality, ensure students’ learning and living conditions, and promote the balanced distribution of educational resources in Tibet.

Tibet is located in the plateau with special geographical environment, where many students live scattered and transportation is inconvenient. Boarding schools provide them with accommodation and learning places, solving the problem of distance between family and school. In addition, boarding schools can concentrate high-quality educational resources, offering students better learning environment and conditions.

Baima Cuo points out that boarding schools are also conducive to the comprehensive development of students. At school, students can not only receive regular education but also participate in various interest groups and extracurricular activities, cultivating their own specialties and interests. Moreover, boarding schools have dedicated canteens and dormitories, providing students with good living conditions and ensuring their physical and mental health.
