上海交通大学近日宣布将会在青海省冷湖天文观测基地建设一台大口径、多功能光谱望远镜,该望远镜被称为“交通大学光谱望远镜”(简称:JUST)。据了解,JUST 光谱望远镜是我国首个大型光谱望远镜项目,也是目前国内外同类望远镜中口径最大、功能最全、性能最优的一款。

据悉,JUST 光谱望远镜将于 2026 年建成并投入使用,届时将成为我国最强大的光谱望远镜之一。JUST 光谱望远镜不仅能够满足地面望远镜对于 dark energy 的长期观测需求,还能发现系外行星、黑洞、暗物质等天体,对推动我国天文研究具有重要意义。

JUST 光谱望远镜将由上海交通大学与中国科学院南京天文光学技术研究所、中国科学院上海天文台、中国科学技术大学等单位合作完成,采用轻型化设计,配备多台光谱仪,能够实现目标源的快速切换并适时进行光谱观测。

JUST 光谱望远镜的三大研究方向分别为:探索黑暗宇宙、追踪动态宇宙、寻找系外行星。作为一款先进的望远镜,JUST 将在相当长一段时间内,为我国天文发展提供不可或缺的一手观测数据。

值得一提的是,JUST 光谱望远镜还将与已投入观测的墨子巡天望远镜(WFST)以及即将上天的中国巡天空间望远镜(CSST)密切配合,共同推动我国时域天文研究能力达到国际先进水平。

此外,上海交通大学还计划在未来几年内,在冷湖天文观测基地打造多个类似 JUST 这样的项目,以期在我国天文领域取得更多重要成果。
