交接仪式在南县稻虾米产业研究院举行。湖南省农业科学院、南县人民政府、中国航天科技集团有限公司等单位的领导和专家出席了仪式。
湖南省农业科学院院长刘少平在致辞中表示，神舟十六号搭载稻虾米种子遨游太空，是党和国家对湖南农业科技创新工作的高度重视和大力支持。湖南省农业科学院将以此为契机，全面推动航空育种科研攻关，开展下一步试验种植和后续评价鉴定，挖掘新基因、新种质，促进南县稻虾米产业高质量发展。
