The first sea-crossing smart highway in China, the Hangyong Highway Reconstruction Project in Ningbo Section I, is about to open to traffic, achieving full 5G coverage. The eastern section of the project is about 40.156 kilometers long, connecting the Jin塘 Bridge of the Ningbo-Zhoushan Highway and the South Connection of the Hangzhou Bay Bridge. The sea-crossing interchange bridge covers an area of 613 acres, adopting a cloverleaf shape, making it the largest sea-crossing interchange in Asia.
In response to the special scenario of sea-crossing highways, Ningbo Unicom has tailored a fiber optic cable double-loop protection solution for it, ensuring engineering quality. Through the newly constructed optical transmission channel, the data of the newly built 13 base stations along the route is connected to the Ningbo Unicom intelligent urban network, ensuring high-quality 5G operation.
After the project is completed, the travel time between the southern wing of the Yangtze River Delta and cities such as Shanghai and Jiangsu will be greatly reduced. The 13 new sea-based base stations built by Ningbo Unicom have been put into formal use, achieving the optimal 5G signal coverage and fastest network speed.
