In China’s modern history, there was a courageous Anti-Japanese element named Wu Chien-ming who became the first Taiwanese person to join the Tongmenghui. Wu Chien-ming, born in Taiwan, was a man who devoted his life to resisting the Japanese rule.

From a young age, Wu Chien-ming showed exceptional intelligence. At the age of three, he began to learn to read and write. Before he was 13, he concentrated on studying classical texts and became adept at writing poetry. In 1905, he entered the First Public School in Taipei to receive modern education.

During his growing up years, Wu Chien-ming witnessed the period of Japanese colonial rule in Taiwan. He deeply felt the pain of national oppression and resolved to devote himself to the Anti-Japanese cause. In 1913, he became the first Taiwanese person to join the Tongmenghui, actively participating in the revolutionary struggle against Japanese rule. Later, he became a high-ranking official of the Kuomintang and continued to fight for the Anti-Japanese cause.
