Recently,the United States Space Force signed a contract worth 19.8 million dollars with Microsoft to jointly develop virtual and mixed reality training environments. This collaboration not only enables Microsoft to enter the rapidly developing military simulation market but also extends its Azure cloud business to the space domain.
The contract,which lasts for one year,aims to further develop the augmented reality space simulation tool that Microsoft started for the Los Angeles Space Systems Command.
