Fifteen years ago, on January 10th, 2001, at 1:00 a.m., China’s first prototype unmanned spacecraft, Shenzhou 2, was successfully launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. Shenzhou 2, consisting of a propulsion module, a reentry module, and an orbital module, was virtually identical to a manned spacecraft. The successful launch provided valuable experience for the subsequent development and launch of China’s manned spacecraft.
