News content:

Recently, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Security, Jia Junqiang, revealed that in response to telecom fraud crimes involving Chinese citizens in Myanmar, China has deployed border police enforcement cooperation in 2023 and launched multiple rounds of strikes. To date, relevant law enforcement departments in Myanmar have transferred more than 41,000 suspects to China. This achievement fully demonstrates China’s determination and strength in combating telecom fraud crimes.

In recent years, telecom fraud activities in Myanmar have been rampant and pose a serious threat to the property safety of Chinese citizens. To protect the legitimate rights and interests of the people, the Chinese government attaches great importance to combating telecom fraud crimes and continuously strengthens law enforcement cooperation with Myanmar.

In this strike, Chinese police focused on the goals of “cracking down on gangs, destroying networks, cutting off channels, and pursuing assets” to implement a comprehensive chain attack on telecom fraud crimes in Myanmar. Through multiple rounds of strikes, a total of more than 41,000 suspects have been arrested, effectively deterring criminal elements and maintaining the security and stability of China’s telecom network space.

To further strengthen international cooperation in combating telecom fraud crimes, China will continue to maintain close communication with law enforcement departments in Myanmar and other countries and regions, jointly cracking down on cross-border criminal activities and effectively protecting the property safety of the people.
