Christopher Pissarides, a Nobel laureate in economics and a professor at the London School of Economics and Political Science, has warned that the rise of artificial intelligence will seriously impact the employment in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields. He believes that some IT workers may be laying “self-destructive seeds” for their careers by advancing artificial intelligence, as artificial intelligence will ultimately replace this type of work in the future.
