Beijing, April 2, 2024 – In a move poised to redefine safety standards for electric two-wheelers, Xiaoniu Electric and Gaode Map (also known as AutoNavi), a leading Chinese digital map, navigation, and location service provider, today announced the joint launch of the industry’s first pure data-driven dynamic safety early warning system. The collaboration aims to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) technology to create a new era of safety for electric scooter riders.

This innovative system, officially unveiled by Gaode Map, utilizes real-time data and AI algorithms to proactively alert riders to potential hazards, enhancing their awareness and reaction time. The system boasts several key features:

  • AI Curve Meeting Warning: By analyzing real-time traffic conditions and curve data, Gaode Map can predict the trajectory of oncoming vehicles around bends. The system alerts the rider through on-screen icons and audible warnings, mitigating the risks associated with blind spots. This feature is particularly crucial in urban environments where electric scooters often navigate complex road layouts.

  • AI Rear Vehicle Alert: Leveraging real-time traffic flow analysis, the system identifies rapidly approaching trucks from behind. Riders receive alerts through dynamic on-screen icons and audible warnings, providing crucial information about rear traffic conditions without the need for additional hardware. This feature addresses a significant safety concern for scooter riders, who are often vulnerable to larger vehicles in traffic.

  • AI Traffic Light Navigation: The system displays a countdown timer for traffic lights directly on the navigation interface. Riders receive visual cues through flashing icons and audible prompts indicating the optimal time to start moving when the light turns green. This feature aims to improve traffic flow and reduce the risk of accidents at intersections.

This collaboration between Xiaoniu Electric and Gaode Map represents a significant step forward in enhancing the safety of electric two-wheelers, said a representative from Xiaoniu Electric. By harnessing the power of AI and real-time data, we are providing riders with valuable tools to navigate urban environments more safely and confidently.

It is important to note that the aforementioned features are currently supported on Xiaoniu Electric’s NX Hyper, NX Ultra, and NXT Hyper models. The AI Curve Meeting Warning and AI Rear Vehicle Alert features require a software update and are contingent on the activation of Gaode Map navigation with oncoming vehicles on curves and trucks approaching from the rear.

The launch of this dynamic safety early warning system underscores the growing importance of integrating technology into electric two-wheelers to improve rider safety.
