Shanghai, March 21, 2025 – In a move poised to revolutionize e-commerce operations, Tmall, Alibaba’s leading online marketplace, is rolling out a comprehensive suite of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools tailored for merchants in the home appliance, furniture, and home improvement sectors. This initiative, unveiled at the AWE2025 exhibition in Shanghai on March 20th, aims to streamline operations across design, customer service, and even live streaming, empowering businesses to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

At the heart of this AI-powered transformation is Jiazuo, Tmall’s proprietary AI design assistant. This tool allows merchants to generate photorealistic scene images with unprecedented ease. By simply uploading a product image, businesses can instantly create a variety of stylized scenes, complete with customizable models, mimicking the quality of professional studio photography.

Jiazuo is specifically designed to cater to the unique needs of the home furnishing and appliance industries. Its AI studio functionality goes beyond simple scene generation, offering over 80 pre-designed styles and allowing merchants to upload reference images or input text descriptions to customize their designs. The newly added AI model feature simulates realistic human representation, even capturing subtle details like fabric wrinkles caused by pressure on a pillow.

The impact of Jiazuo is already being felt by leading brands. According to a representative from mattress giant Mousse, the tool has significantly streamlined their workflow. Jiazuo can free up designers from some basic tasks, allowing them to focus on creative product design. In the past year, we have actively explored and adopted nearly 2,000 scene images generated by Jiazuo AI, including over 900 with models. Compared to the traditional approach, this has saved us over 1.4 million yuan in design costs.

With over 130,000 merchants already utilizing Jiazuo, including prominent brands like Linshi Wood, Mousse, QuanU, Pasa Meng, ZHIHUA SHI, Clean-n-Fresh, NVC Lighting, and Supor, the tool’s impact is undeniable.

We hope to use AI technology to help merchants improve their operating efficiency, explains Yu Cheng, product manager of Tmall Jiazuo. This comprehensive AI initiative signifies Tmall’s commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology to empower its merchants and drive innovation within the e-commerce landscape.
