Beijing, China – The Hongqi E-QM5 PLUS is getting a makeover for 2025, with the updated model recently appearing in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) filings. The refresh focuses on a redesigned front fascia and a more powerful electric motor, signaling Hongqi’s continued commitment to the electric vehicle market.

The current Hongqi E-QM5 series is priced between RMB 165,800 and RMB 239,800.

A New Face for the Future

The most noticeable change is at the front. The 2025 E-QM5 PLUS ditches the vertical chrome slats in the closed-off grille area, opting for a cleaner, more modern look. The upper light clusters and grille frame have also been removed, streamlining the vehicle’s front-end design. The side profile features conventional door handles, while the rear retains the distinctive L-shaped taillights. The car rides on 17-inch wheels.

Dimensions and Power

According to MIIT data, the 2025 Hongqi E-QM5 PLUS measures 5040mm in length, 1910mm in width, and 1569mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2900mm. It is powered by a single electric motor with a maximum output of 110kW, a 10kW increase compared to the current model.

The battery pack is supplied by CATL (Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited) and utilizes lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry. However, the battery capacity and expected range have not yet been disclosed.

Conclusion

The 2025 Hongqi E-QM5 PLUS represents a subtle but significant update to the existing model. The refreshed front-end design gives the car a more contemporary appeal, while the increased motor power should translate to improved performance. As Hongqi continues to expand its presence in the EV market, the E-QM5 PLUS will likely play a key role in attracting a broader range of consumers. Further details, including battery capacity, range, and official pricing, are expected to be released closer to the vehicle’s launch.
