Beijing – NOETIX Robotics, a Chinese robotics startup, is making waves in the humanoid robot market with the launch of its N2 and E1 robots, priced at a fraction of what industry giants are projecting. The company, led by founder Jiang Zheyuan, a Tsinghua University graduate, aims to democratize access to humanoid robots, envisioning a future where they are not just a novelty for the elite.
The E1 robot starts at a groundbreaking price of 39,900 yuan (approximately $5,500 USD), while the N2 is priced at 59,900 yuan (approximately $8,300 USD). This aggressive pricing strategy positions NOETIX Robotics as a potential Xiaomi or Apple in the humanoid robot space, disrupting the market with affordable and functional robots.
We want to make humanoid robots accessible to everyone, Jiang Zheyuan told Titanium Media AGI. A price point of 39,900 yuan is a necessity for the development of the robotics industry. We need to find our own space to survive.
The N2, standing at 1.2 meters tall, boasts impressive agility, capable of performing backflips, running, and other dynamic movements. According to the company, the N2 has already received over 500 pre-orders, signaling strong initial demand. The robot can reach a speed of 3.5 meters per second.
The company’s strategy appears to be centered around offering a range of options to cater to different needs and budgets. The E1, despite being the lower-priced model, offers more advanced functionality compared to the N2, which has fewer degrees of freedom and a shorter stature.
This bold move challenges the current landscape, where humanoid robots are often seen as expensive and complex research platforms. Elon Musk, for example, has publicly stated a target price of $30,000 for Tesla’s Optimus robot. NOETIX Robotics is undercutting this target significantly, potentially accelerating the adoption of humanoid robots in various applications.
The success of NOETIX Robotics’ approach remains to be seen, but their entry into the market with such competitive pricing is undeniably a game-changer. The company’s ambition to become the Apple of humanoid robots, coupled with its focus on affordability and functionality, could reshape the industry and bring humanoid robots closer to mainstream adoption.
