Seoul, South Korea – Seoul is gearing up to host the 2025 Seoul World City Culture Festival from May 24th to 25th, promising a vibrant celebration of global cultures. The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on March 9th that the festival will take place across the iconic Gwanghwamun Square, Cheonggye Plaza, and along the Cheonggyecheon Stream.

Under the theme Seoul and the World United Through Culture, the festival aims to foster cross-cultural understanding and appreciation. Attendees can look forward to a diverse range of activities, including a parade of traditional costumes from around the world, international cultural performances, promotional booths hosted by various embassies in Korea, and a world photography exhibition.

The festival’s grand opening ceremony is scheduled for noon on May 24th on a specially erected stage in Gwanghwamun Square. The opening parade will feature representatives from embassies in Korea, international guests, performing arts troupes from Seoul’s sister cities, and enthusiastic citizens. Throughout the festival, the special stage will showcase traditional performances from 12 of Seoul’s sister cities, highlighting the rich cultural tapestry of the global network. A ceremony will also be held to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of multiculturalism.

Adding a culinary dimension to the festivities, the Cheonggyecheon Stream area will be transformed into a global gourmet zone. This food haven will offer a delectable array of international cuisines, allowing both residents and tourists to savor the flavors of the world in the heart of Seoul.
