Seoul, March 7 (Yonhap) — South Korean actress Jeon Ji-hyun, known for her roles in My Sassy Girl and Assassination, is set to make her highly anticipated return to the big screen after a ten-year hiatus. The announcement comes as SHOWBOX, the film’s distributor, revealed that the upcoming movie The Crowd, directed by Yeon Sang-ho, has officially begun filming with its cast finalized.
The Crowd depicts a terrifying scenario where an unidentified virus leads to the lockdown of a building, with infected individuals evolving into unpredictable and deadly forms, posing a grave threat to the remaining survivors.
Yeon Sang-ho, the director behind the critically acclaimed zombie thriller Train to Busan and the Netflix series Hellbound, is expected to bring his signature suspenseful and visually striking style to this new project. The film boasts a stellar cast alongside Jeon Ji-hyun, including Ji Chang-wook (Suspicious Partner), Koo Kyo-hwan (D.P.), Shin Hyun-bin (Hospital Playlist), and Kim Shin-rok (Hellbound).
