Beijing, February 28, 2025 – Xiaomi’s highly anticipated launch event on February 27th saw the unveiling of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra smartphone and the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra electric vehicle, marking a significant step in the company’s foray into the high-end market. The SU7 Ultra, in particular, has captured significant attention, with pre-orders exceeding 6,900 units within just 10 minutes of going live.

Xiaomi founder, chairman, and CEO Lei Jun emphasized the importance of these products, stating that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra and SU7 Ultra represent the culmination of fifteen years of innovation and five years of focused exploration in the high-end sector. He positioned these releases as the beginning of Xiaomi’s journey into the ultra-premium market segment.

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra starts at a price of 529,900 RMB and is available in five distinct exterior colors: Lightning Yellow, Space Silver, Parrot Green, Pearl White, and Obsidian Black. Beyond the standard edition, Xiaomi is also offering Racing Suit and Nürburgring Limited Edition versions, with the latter expected to launch and be delivered after completing challenges at the famed Nürburgring race track.

Early adopters who placed their orders before March 31st, 2025, at 24:00, are eligible for benefits valued up to 90,000 RMB. These benefits include lifetime access to Xiaomi’s HAD end-to-end full-scene intelligent driving system, five years of basic maintenance, classic racing stripes, fifteen carbon fiber components, and a carbon fiber rear wing.

The rapid pre-order numbers for the SU7 Ultra are a testament to the vehicle’s appeal and the market’s appetite for high-performance electric vehicles. This success marks a significant milestone for Xiaomi as it seeks to establish itself as a major player in the premium EV market.

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra smartphone, also unveiled at the event, will be available in four color options: White, Black, Classic Black Silver, and Pine Green, with a base configuration of 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

This dual launch demonstrates Xiaomi’s commitment to innovation and its ambition to compete at the highest levels of both the consumer electronics and automotive industries. The SU7 Ultra’s immediate success suggests a promising future for Xiaomi in the burgeoning electric vehicle market.
