Shenyang, China – Amidst a complex and evolving international landscape, the 11th Korea-China Public Diplomacy Forum convened in Shenyang, China on February 25th, signaling a renewed effort to strengthen ties between the two nations. The forum, a collaborative effort between the foreign ministries of both South Korea and China, was jointly organized by the Korea Foundation for International Exchange and the China Public Diplomacy Association.

According to the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the forum brought together experts from both countries to discuss avenues for fostering mutual respect, reciprocal benefits, and increased people-to-people exchanges. Participants emphasized the importance of building upon shared interests to enhance understanding between the Korean and Chinese populations.

A consensus emerged among attendees regarding the necessity of expanding practical cooperation in areas of mutual concern, particularly in the economic and industrial sectors. The shared goal is to achieve mutual prosperity and leverage the momentum generated through collaboration in various fields to drive qualitative improvements in the overall bilateral relationship.

Key figures in attendance included Choi Heeduk, the South Korean Consul General in Shenyang, Kim Kihwan, President of the Korea Foundation for International Exchange, Wu Hailong, President of the China Public Diplomacy Association, Tong Xiaoling, Vice President of the China Public Diplomacy Association, and Shan Yi, Vice Governor of Liaoning Province.

The Korea-China Public Diplomacy Forum serves as a crucial platform for government officials and members of the public to engage in constructive dialogue and explore opportunities for collaboration, highlighting the ongoing commitment to strengthening the relationship between South Korea and China.
