Beijing, February 13, 2024 – Chery Automobile has released official images of its Fengyun A9 model in a striking Cherry Red color, confirming the vehicle will feature advanced intelligent driving capabilities. The announcement, initially reported by IT Home on February 12th, signals Chery’s ambition to compete in the rapidly evolving market for smart electric vehicles.
The Fengyun A9 is equipped with a comprehensive suite of sensors, including LiDAR, high-definition cameras, and millimeter-wave radar. This hardware suite is expected to support the Shenxing Intelligent Driving system, enabling full-scenario high-level autonomous driving features. These features will likely include Highway/City Navigate on Autopilot (NOA) and ultra-long-range intelligent parking.
Beyond its intelligent driving capabilities, the Fengyun A9 is powered by the Kunpeng Super Hybrid C-DM system. This advanced powertrain consists of a dedicated hybrid engine, a dedicated hybrid transmission, a dedicated hybrid battery, and a sophisticated battery management system. According to a previous report by IT Home, citing Chery Brand Marketing Center Deputy General Manager Yao Fei’s personal social media account on January 16th, the Fengyun A9 is expected to begin blind pre-orders in February or March, followed by pre-sales in April. Official test drives are planned for March and April, with the official launch slated for May or June.
