Zhangzhou, Fujian – The spirit of unity and cultural heritage shone brightly as families from both sides of the Taiwan Strait gathered in Longwen District, Zhangzhou, to celebrate the traditional Lantern Festival. On February 9th, the third annual Rooted in the Same Origin, United by Cross-Strait Affection: Longwen Taiwanese Compatriots Celebrate the Lantern Festival event took place, fostering connections and camaraderie.

The event, which included the Zhangzhou-Taiwan Youth Talent Reunion and Exchange, welcomed 24 families comprised of cross-strait couples and Taiwanese professionals residing in the area. Participants enjoyed a day of cultural exploration and festive activities, embracing the spirit of the Lantern Festival.

The gathering served as a platform to strengthen bonds between people from mainland China and Taiwan, emphasizing shared cultural roots and promoting understanding. The event highlighted the importance of family connections and cultural exchange in fostering positive cross-strait relations.

The Lantern Festival, a significant event in the Chinese lunar calendar, symbolizes reunion, harmony, and hope for the future. The celebration in Longwen District provided a vibrant setting for families to experience the joy of the festival together, reinforcing the sense of belonging and shared identity.

This event underscores the ongoing efforts to promote cultural exchange and strengthen ties between mainland China and Taiwan, fostering a sense of community and shared heritage among people from both sides of the Strait.
