MAMA Awards Goes Global: 25th Anniversary Celebration to Span US and Japan
Seoul, South Korea – The 25th anniversary of the MAMA Awards, K-Pop’s prestigious music ceremony, will be celebrated with a global spectacle, spanning across the United States and Japan. The announcement was made by CJ ENM,the organizer of the event, at a press conference held on October 29th.
The US leg of the awards ceremony will take place at the Dolby Theatrein Los Angeles on November 21st. This marks the first time the MAMA Awards will be held in the United States, signifying a significant step in the global expansion of K-Pop. Actor Park Bo-gum will host the ceremony,with a star-studded lineup of performers including Korean artists ILLIT, Park Jin-young, KATSEYE, RIIZE, and TWS, alongside American singer Anderson .Paak.
The following day, the celebration will shift to Japan,with the MAMA Awards taking place at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka from November 22nd to 23rd. Actress Kim Tae-ri will take the reins as host for the Japanese leg, with a diverse lineup of performers yet to be announced.
The decision to host the 25th anniversarycelebration in both the US and Japan reflects the growing global reach of K-Pop and the MAMA Awards. This move signifies the awards’ ambition to further solidify its position as a leading force in the international music industry.
